This time round, we bring you the story of a steadily growing company, Pacific C.A.M Trading Enterprise.
First founded some 13 years back in 1991, Pacific C.A.M.Trading Enterprise was previously a tenant of 3 industrial units from HDB at Ang Mo Kio Industrial Park 3. The company also has its own warehouse at Tanjong Penjuru. In Jan 2003, due to expansion needs, the 20 staff strong company took over a 30,600 m2 land lease property from HDB at 51 Yishun Industrial Park A.

On the new industrial space, Mr. A.H Tan, Director of Pacific C.A.M. opined that while it is competitive to operate in Singapore, the space is about enough for them at the moment due to growing businesses. 'When it comes to business, customer satisfaction is the utmost. That's why we always try to meet up with them to make sure that we meet their needs and requirements'.

Pacific C.A.M specializes in the importing and exporting of products as well as in customized packaging and repackaging. The partnership also takes on customized printing jobs. Some of the products managed by the company include bags, microwave containers, chopsticks, rubber bands, cups etc.

The company's customers are largely direct buyers from overseas e.g. Australia, Indonesia, Taiwan and Malaysia. There are also a number of local business customers. Most of these loyal customers were introduced via word-of-mouth. Some of the main ones include the ST group, SIA (bags, cup, cutlery), the Ministry of Defence (lunch box for army), NTUC clubs (bags) as well as various local hawkers & restaurants. The company also makes use of listings in the Yellow Pages as well as the Green Book to promote their product lines.

Pacific C.A.M relies heavily on the emailing system as well as customized softwares such as ACCPAC System (for customer data & inventory) in their daily course of work. There are plans to build up a website to promote overseas sales in the not too distant future. The company also plans to set up overseas branches (sales), venture into providing industrial products as a manufacturer, develop its own branding as well as explore into direct sales.
