SHATEC
SHATEC, Asia's Foremost Hotel and Tourism College managed by the Singapore Hotel Association was set up in 1983. Its mission statement: "To be the leading Hotel and Tourism School, where learning is shaped by knowledge, skills and mainly attitudes".

The college offers: seven full-time programmes in the areas of hotel and tourism management, high craft skills and certificate courses; part-time skills upgrading programmes for the industry; lifeskills programmes for the public; customized courses for corporations; and systematic Certificate and Diploma programmes for hotel personnel in 9 regional countries: Cambodia, China, Malaysia, Mauritius, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam.

 

The College occupies over 65,000 sq ft of extensive top-rate training facilities. SHATEC also manages SHA Villa - a 40-room boutique hotel and three commercial food and beverage outlets where students hone their learning experiences.

The College has also received numerous awards in the areas of culinary, food and beverage service and standards in business excellence. Notably: the World Gourmet Summit Awards of Excellence Electrolux Culinary Institute of the Year for four years in a row (since 2001); Singapore Quality Class for Private Education Organisation; and Singapore Tourism Board Most Outstanding Contribution to Tourism Award in 1992.
